SUMMARY:Open Science in HORIZON Europe
DESCRIPTION:Open science is a policy priority for the European Commission and the standard approach to academic research under the new Framework Programme Horizon Europe\, as it improves the quality\, efficiency and responsiveness of research. \nWhen researchers share knowledge and data as early as possible in the research process with all relevant actors it helps diffuse the latest knowledge. And when partners from across academia\, industry\, public authorities and citizen groups are invited to participate in the research and innovation process\, creativity and trust in science increases. \nWhat novelties can we find in Horizon Europe regarding Open Science? What new practices evaluators will look for in their evaluation? What rules and obligations are set in the new model agreement? \nAlea López\, from the Open Science unit of the European Commission\, will discuss these and other issues\, particularly relevant to all researchers and research managers aiming to submit and manage projects under Horizon Europe. \nSpeaker: Alea López de San Román – Policy Officer\, Unit Open Science\, Directorate General for Research and Innovation\, European Commission \nTarget audience: Open to the R&I community (Researchers\, Research managers\, Librarians\, etc.) \nRegistration needed. \nOrganizers: NOVA FCSH working group on Open Science

SUMMARY:Bloomberg: BQL webinar
DESCRIPTION:This is a reminder that the last BQL webinar of the year for students will be run this Friday 11/29/19 1:00 PM UK time.\nThis is a free webinar and we invite all students that may need to use Bloomberg data in Excel to attend this webinar. \nBQL is a new API based on normalized\, curated\, point-in-time data. Using BQL\, you can perform custom calculations directly in the Bloomberg Cloud. Analyses that previously required you to download thousands of data points and perform complicated Microsoft® Excel manipulation now require only one formula. You just specify the data you want and the calculation you want to perform—including\, but not limited to\, arithmetic and statistical operations\, filtering\, grouping\, scoring\, and dates-based analysis—so you can synthesize large amounts of data and extract the exact information you need.
